Privacy Policy — VocabTrove

VocabTrove ("we", "our", or "us") is a vocabulary learning app built by NikamiLabs. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account data — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
Learning data — your flashcards, review history, exam results, and reading progress. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers when you are signed in.
Usage data — basic analytics (page views, performance metrics) collected by Vercel Speed Insights. No personally identifiable information is included.

2. How we use your data

To sync your learning progress across your devices.
To restore your data if you reinstall the app or switch devices.
To improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties except as described below.

3. Third-party services

Supabase — we use Supabase to store your synced learning data securely. Data is stored in EU-based servers. See Supabase's privacy policy.
Google OAuth — sign-in is handled by Google. We only receive your name and email. See Google's privacy policy.
Vercel — the web app is hosted on Vercel. See Vercel's privacy policy.

4. Data storage and security

Your learning data is stored locally on your device using your browser's storage or the app's local database. When you sign in, it is additionally synced to our Supabase database over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We do not store your Google password or any payment information.

5. Data retention

Your learning data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your data at any time by resetting your progress from the app's settings screen. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at nikamilabs@gmail.com.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at nikamilabs@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

VocabTrove is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of VocabTrove after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
